SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces to be sealed or coated must be free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants.

If grinding make sure there are no remaining dust particles on the surface.  Remove any dust particles with a vacuum or damp mop. Make sure surface is completely dry before sealing.

Clean all surfaces with degreasant and flush with copious quantities of clean water, scrubbing to remove all contaminants while washing down the area.  Repeat this application until all residues of contaminant are removed.

Acid etch bare concrete if surface is not profiled, using hydrochloric acid diluted with 10 parts water to 1part acid.  Broom on to surface and leave to react for approximately 10 minutes.  Do not allow to dry out, hosing off with copious quantities of fresh water.  Make sure the acid has achieved the desired the result in opening up the pores of the concrete.  A second acid etch maybe required with the same dilution rate 10 parts water to 1 part acid to make sure the concrete pores are open sufficiently for the 1st Coat Primer Coat.

A suitable Auseal – Curite Pty Ltd recommended contractor is available for this acid etch process if required.  Auseal – Curite Pty Ltd recommend this process.

Allow surface to thoroughly dry prior to sealer application.

APPLICATION

Stir thoroughly before and during application to ensure uniformity, making sure that any suspended pigment (if coloured) is completely re-incorporated.

The First coat must be Powerseal tinted or untinted primer to assist penetration and adhesion.

Apply coating evenly with broom or roller.  Uneven application may result in slowing down of curing time. DO NOT apply thickly.

Allow recommended drying time between 4 hours and 14 hours before applying evenly one full Second coat without dilution.

Cleaning

POWERSEAL can be removed from tools and equipment with Auseal Solvent.
